About

Ni hao!

We're Bill(y) and Robin -- husband and wife of 10 years and over-and-abundantly blessed parents of two wonderful kiddos: Cosette and Micah. We are elated to share that we are adopting a waiting child from China!

Most important about who we are is that we're followers and believers in the one true God, and His beloved and only son Jesus Christ; as well as the Holy Spirit (who quite frankly gets left out far too often). Christ is from whom all our blessings flow; He's what gives us strength and grace for our everyday, hope for the future, and courage to do beyond what we feel we're able to do. In a nutshell - without God we're nothing, and in Him everything.

More about us: Billy works in insurance as a manager, and I stay at home and homeschool both of the kids. Homeschooling, as you can guess, is a big part of who we are. We first began homeschooling for the flexibility with traveling (Billy had taken a traveling job that we wanted to up and travel with him whenever we wanted to). He stayed in that position for almost two years, before he was offered a new position in Iowa that would allow him to be home again on a nightly/weekend basis. While traveling was fun - and homeschooling in hotels was fun, it was time to get back into a normal home routine. We've found homeschooling brings a multitude of benefits, and we're so blessed to have discovered it along our family life's journey.

Outside of his work, Billy enjoys volunteering for a local historical baseball team (and men's softball at church) as well as getting his hands in any house-related project. The kids love cheerleading and playing basketball during the winter season, Cosette loves ballet, softball, and crafting anything out of clay or fabric. Micah is a science and game enthusiast and loves golfing with dad as well as shooting his crossbow and chopping wood with his hatchet. They both love to tend to their small raised garden, bike-riding, creating terrariums, archery, fishing, swimming, and playing board games. Over-all, they're both easy-going, well-behaved, and Christ-loving kids who we grow fonder and fonder of every day. And me? Outside of regular household duties and homeschooling, I enjoy writing in spare time, hunkering down with the hub at night on Netflix with a hot cup of coffee when the kids are in bed, family bike rides, a good board game (or Mario Kart on the WiiU), or digging into a good book.

Why are we adopting? First and foremost, we simply want more children and feel as ready as ever for more. Secondly, there are literally millions of children in the world that will go to bed tonight without the loving hug and kiss from a momma or daddy -- ontop of that, many will go to bed without the very basic needs they need and deserve. We figure since we yearn for a child, and a child somewhere yearns for us (a mom and dad) -- why not adopt? In addition, international adoptions have plummeted by up to 70% in recent years due to a number of reasons including tougher eligibility requirements. We figure since we meet the eligibility requirements, and we've got the space in our home and more importantly in our hearts  --- why not us?
